Food Connect and Jo's

Yes I know it's time for an update,- to share in this space the tributaries of the Moles and Bullies Empire. It's coming soon.

Meanwhile yes we've been gettng food connect boxes (http://www.foodconnectadelaide.com.au/) very much loving the fresh produce and local pick ups. William's been making sauerkraut too. It might be time for fermenting club soon .....?

"Jo's" is also in our neck of the woods. A vegie shop out of his home garage, Jo has an amazing orchard of persimmons (and they are on! April) and a grand mixture of local fruit/veg, honey, olives and etc. You kind of have to know someone who knows where it is.

Also I'm currently working on The Flying Fruit project with Sturt Street Commnity School through the Artist in Schools program with Carclew. The kids get to learn about Food Miles and digital drawing, choose a fruit/veg and collage it with a mode of transport.

Quitting

Tuesday 1st Feb 2011. I'm quitting supermarkets.

Well the two giants in Australia. Coles (Moles) and Woolworths (Bullworths). Check out this- The Beast File: Wlloies and Coles (HUNGRY BEAST)
animation for all the facts and figures,-

I'm going to do this for a year, and encourage people to join me on the journey. Try one week first, one month!

People who know me might think i quit them years ago. But not formally. And this public action is to share my ongoing and growing dis-approvement to their actions and show support to the food producers of this country.

I'd love people to join this blog and share location ideas for where people can go to get "all the things we need."

My partner and i have just moved down "onto the flat" of Adelaide which means new possibilities to discover for where our food comes from. We may get Food Connect boxes again for a while.
We are on east side. Will research any food co-ops in the area.
